When The Birmingham Alliance first looked at the state of shopping in the UK’s second city, it probably seemed that nothing short of a miracle would get the city back on track - Birmingham was somehow managing to export more shoppers than it could bring back in. The city needed a PR campaign that could work wonders and change the city’s concrete clad image to one of a capital of couture.
We worked (night and day) to do just that. And, after a PR-led launch, the new Bullring smashed all previous retail records with over a million through the doors in the first week of trading. For our part, we achieved over 1,450 page impressions in just four weeks. ITN, BBC, Sky, Five News, The Today Programme, The Times, The Sun, The Sunday Times, Radio 1 and Radio 4 all saw the light and covered the launch of Bullring. If you want to talk in “AVEs”, our campaign generated £5milion in just a month and if you want to talk real results, Bullring fast became the most visited shopping centre in Europe with over 1 million through the doors in its first week and 36.5 million in its first year alone.
