EASTSIDECITY
Thirty days before works began on EastsideCity’s £900m regeneration of 19 hectares in Nottingham City Centre and you could sense the excitement in the air around our offices. Just one problem – residents simply didn’t share this keen anticipation. Our challenge was to get the public as excited as we were.
To kick off the campaign we prompted the public to count down the days, hours and minutes with us by installing a giant clock on one of the city’s busiest commuter routes. Branded, “Wake Up to the Changes on Eastside” this supersized clock was switched on by smiling school children and as zero hour chimed and works began, we lit up the city’s sky with a fireworks extravaganza.
The campaign generated nearly sixty pieces of press coverage spanning every available avenue in Nottingham. There was no escaping E Day. In fact, we even broadcast worldwide after the BBC traffic and weather webcam ensured our clock was caught on camera for all to see.
