Bending the Rules
When longstanding client Worcester, Bosch Group launched plans to have an urban garden at the 2011 RHS Chelsea Flower Show we knew we had to cultivate a cunning plan. Up against lavish show gardens backed by A-list movie stars and expensive installations supported by much loved TV gardeners, our task was to create as much buzz for boilers and renewable energy as possible.
It was no mean feat but in a bid to raise interest above the horticulture press, we enlisted two acrobalance artists for a press call which showed just how flexible nature could be. And our coverage bloomed!
The Telegraph, Real Homes, Woman & Home, Yahoo News, BBC1, and BBC2 all covered the garden while the Metro used our very bendy ladies in the only garden image of their show round-up. Twenty key home interest journalists from the Mirror to the Mail and Ideal Home to Good Homes attended and all the seeds were firmly sewn just in time for future heating features. What's more, we welcomed a stream of celebs into the garden throughout the show.
As one journalist put it: 'it's always a good event when Willoughby are involved.' Well, we can't say fairer than that...
