WKD
WKD is well known for its bold and cheeky brand values – but it’s the
job of PR to bring this to life. And bring it to life we do. Take WKD National
Kebab Week for example. Designed to take a ‘tongue in cheek’ look at
men’s kebab eating antics, it got tongues wagging right across the UK.
We conducted a national survey of the kebab facts, distributed 5,000 WKD branded
flyers to kebab shops, toured 20 cities with a specially created inflatable game
tournament and maximised the hype around the England vs Turkey Euro Qualifier with
a five-a-side football match between British fish and chip shop owners and Turkish
kebab shop owners.
The campaign reached an audience of 10 million with Sky Sports turning out in force
to film the football match; RI:SE, Richard and Judy, Five Live, Radio 4 and Terry
Wogan were all sucked in by our survey and the Daily Star fed the frenzy with
a full page feature.
Whilst we grabbed gold at that year’s Midland Pride Award for the “Best
Consumer Campaign” the client celebrated as the campaign created a massive
increase in sales.
