Pupils on a Bright Career Track: an Engineering PR Case Study
For the second year in succession, Innovation Rail (iRail) was the leading UK event to inspire the next generation of skills into the railway industry. Our engineering PR team was tasked by client Transport iNet to communicate the need for bright minds, both to youngsters in the Midlands and to existing rail engineers across the UK.
WPR went full steam ahead to secure leading trade title, Rail Technology Magazine, as an official event sponsor for no cost. After issuing a news bulletin to over 20,000 of the engineers in its readership, Rail Technology Magazine produced an exclusive five page supplement as an official guide to the event. A starring slot on ITV Central was so well received that it is now used by the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSARE) to prove the difference it is making to the career aspirations of young people. Alongside 12 other trade title pieces and ten appearances in the regional press, WPR had undeniably spread the word to engineers and pupils across the region.
